Warrior Mama
Is there anyone who isn’t feeling a restless pull to save the world right now? Anyone googling “Vigilante Training”? I don’t even watch the news, but you can’t escape humanity’s dark pillidge history on earth sludging it’s way to the surface by way of climate and humanitarian crises. It’s everywhere, and it’s gonna take a world wide collective of soldiers stepping up and taking action for a future of peace and balance. Action is a loaded word, though. The energy of feminine guidance should always precede the masculine energy of action. Our world is dangerously off balance, because those in power are guided by ego versus intuition. Ego uses the…

Shopping for Children
Every day I see at least 5-10 posts of missing children. Every day, I also see at least 5-10 children completely unsupervised; be it at the bus stop, playing outside, walking to the store. I don’t think “we” as a society really get the gravity of the trafficking crisis in our country right now, so I’m gonna try to hit it from a different angle. People are literally out on the streets SHOPPING for children! When you go to buy a new dress, do you just blindly grab the first thing you see that doesn’t have a seam from the crotch to the ankle? No, of course you don’t. If…

Join The Village, Or Shut Up!
I didn’t read the article, I don’t watch the news. I cannot handle all of the details of this week’s tragic local story about a mother, without childcare, losing her child. I’ve seen enough posts to know all that I need to. A mother lost her child, and instead of support, she’s receiving a torrential downpour of criticism and judgement. Stop! If you are a mother, You have got to stop judging other mothers! I’ve said it before, in a cheeky sort of way. I even wrote a cute, lighthearted article called Judgy Wudgy Was A Bear. For today, though, I’m gonna pack the humor in my pocket, because we…

Eyes On The Water
At the risk of sounding maternal, I’m going to give my smart ass a rest and dip into a little PSA. It’s summertime, and for a lot of us that means fun at the pool. One of my littles still isn’t quite a swimmer so I’m in there; every trip. Rocking my curvy, tiger striped beach body. We’ve only been about 5-6 times, but I’ve already noticed several parents fully consumed by their phones. Zero attention being paid to their babies in the water. I’m not throwing shade or shame. I’m not calling anyone out. I would like to share a story, though. About 3 years ago I took just…

A Collection Of Questions; With A Few Thoughts In Between
Trigger Warning: This article is long and based on an intense subject matter that may upset some readers. Proceed at your own discretion. In school, I’m told, I was pretty annoying. Always with my hand up. Always with questions. Always prolonging the lesson, which was apparently supposed to be a quick and sweet death for the other students. Can’t say I cared, though. What better way to understand something, than by asking questions? When information is forced upon you, how much do you really retain; especially if the subject is of no interest to you? I did very well in school, not because I was studious (because I certainly was…

Will You Please Watch Your Kids
For the past few years my daughter has dealt with an older girl who has a distinct aversion to kindness. You’d think they would get along, since my daughter has a mean streak of her own, but I think the age difference has a lot to do with efficacy of her intimidation. Well, one day my daughter came home very upset. Said girl offered her a dollar for a piece of gum, but snatched the dollar back after the exchange. My daughter spoke up for herself, and she was offered the gum back. That would have been an awesome self-care win, and a major confidence boost, had the gum not…

I Give Up
I Give Up! Despite the bully barrage of positive memes that tell me not to. Despite the smile covered “shoulds” people offer without invitation. You can place a sound and safe bet, that anything following, “You should just” is probably bullshit advice. It’s very likely that it’s coming from someone completely Unaware of the path you walk. Those who have been in your shoes will share their story with helpful hopes. Those with True Empathy will listen, and sit in uncomfortable silence with you. Knowing that, sometimes, there’s nothing they can do, but share in that shitty place with you for a little while; so you know You’re Not Alone.…

What The Cup?!
Cupping wasn’t even really on my radar until it was suggested to me mid massage, but I so wish I would have known about it a long time ago. So, here I am, putting it on your radar because it’s a self-care cup of awesome that you’ve gotta try. I’ve been getting regular massages for a little over a year to help with the recovery of my shoulder after surgery; two surgeries actually. It’s been super helpful, and luckily I’ve found someone who’s good at getting deep down in the tissue, but nothing compares to these amazing little cups that literally suck the stress right out of you. So what…
